A patriotic Greensboro cemetery

Entrance at Westminster Gardens Cemetery and CrematoryWestminster Gardens Cemetery is peaceful and neighborly place of final rest, as well as a place for families to come to honor their loved ones. When you enter the cemetery gates, right away you will see an American flag as a reminder of our freedoms. We also fly an American flag in our veterans section.

Cemetery grounds at Westminster Gardens Cemetery and CrematoryThe memorial park, which has a lake with a fountain, offers a range of burial options: traditional in-ground burial, above-ground mausoleum entombment and choices for cremation placement in a mausoleum niche, private columbarium, bench or pedestal. Ground burials can be memorialized with flat bronze markers or upright granite monuments.

We believe that our mausoleum is the most beautiful in Guilford County. Built as a memorial to the September 11 terrorist attacks, the exquisite 2-story facility accommodates indoor or outdoor committal services in an elegant, climate-controlled chapel.

History

Westminster Gardens Cemetery was established in 1949 by the Greene family and purchased by Albert S. Lineberry in 1958. It was then sold to Loewen Group in 1994, who later became The Alderwoods Group. Today, our cemetery is a member of the Dignity Memorial® network. Over the years, Westminster Gardens Cemetery has seen many expansions and beautification projects that have created a respected community park venue, perfect for remembering life's memories and loved ones. It also includes a crematory which was the 12th private crematorium in the state.

A few notables are interred at Westminster Gardens, including a former NFL player who played for both the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants during his career. Our cemetery is also the final resting place for a former Special Olympics participant who won 250 medals throughout his lifetime, including 7 medals at 6 Special Olympics World Games.
